❤️Tamaki College students prepare to perform their 'hearts out' at Polyfest❤️

IALT: Write a summary about a event that includes our community!

Morena and greetings to you all...
WELCOME BACK TO MY BLOG!

So today, Ms Komor gave us a task to research an article about our community, It was quite hard researching articles because it ONLY came up with things that happened in Auckland but not in Panmure or our local community.

So, I came across some articles and I found this article about 'Tamaki College getting ready for Polyfest'. I was happy since I came across this article because NOT only do I know SO much about this article but I know what it's about since it includes POLYFEST!

Here it is!

🎾Kiwisport🎾

IALT: Reflect about Kiwisport!

Hello EVERYBODY and greetings to you all...
WELCOME BACK TO MY BLOG!

So in the morning like just not long ago, Kia Manawanui had our last Kiwsport session today. So since Homegroup 1 went first to Kiwisport, Homegroup 2 which is my group did Volleyball with Ms Komor since there's a Volleyball tournament coming up early next term I think.

So...during the lesson - we learned about the stances that we should be in when getting ready to hit the ball to another player and also got taught about where our positions were, and also learnt that the server will be the person on the back, right side.

Tennis Questions:

How do you feel about Kiwisport? Well...I felt kind of upset knowing that this will be our very LAST session of Tennis with our coach Peter but I was also happy since I got to learn some extremely helpful technique's that I could use when I am playing Tennis.

What parts of it did you like? I liked ALL of the parts when we were playing Tennis because like I said, I enjoyed getting to learn NEW techniques that could help me become a way BETTER Tennis player - *giggles*.

What do you need to improve on? I really need to improve on hitting the ball gently to my partner because sometimes, I find it VERY hard to hit it to my partner because it feels like you are ACTUALLY playing, but like you are - but also not really if you know what I mean.

Would you like to participate a Tennis club? Well...Sure, I'll give it a try but it's just up to my mum to see what she thinks that we'll go from there..

📝Writing📝

WALT: Write definition for Alliteration & Hyperbole!

Fakalofa Lahi Atu and greetings to you all...
WELCOME BACK TO MY BLOG!

So just not long ago, Kia Manawanui had our Writing session with Ms Komor. Others have missed out since they are gone to Cricket but hopefully they WIN - anyways, we learned about 2 Figurative Languages which are 'Alliteration' & 'Hyperbole'.

So I created a DLO {Digital Learning Object} about what I did during the Writing lesson - I think you might already know what 'DLO' means but i'll still say what it means anyways.

In my perspective, I think that the definition of 'Figurative Language' means Figurative language is language that uses words or expressions.  It was cool getting to learn different words and the meanings which will definitely help me when I do freestyle writing or a writing sample!

🏐Lunchtime Sports - Volleyball🏐

WALT: Teach others how to play Volleyball during Lunchtime Sports!

G'Day mate and greetings to you all...
WELCOME BACK TO MY BLOG!

So today, I had made a poster about our Lunchtime Sports - Volleyball while Cerenity was doing her work. We will be hosting/doing Volleyball EVERY Wednesday lunchtimes so be prepared to come along and join us!

It would be AMAZING if you'd ALL come and play with us so we can teach how to play Volleyball, ESPECIALLY the year 7 & 8's since after the Cricket tournament that's happening today, There will be a VOLLEYBALL tournament which I am SO excited about since Volleyball is my ALL time favourite sport in the whole entire universe!

Here is the poster!

We will also be hanging these posters around our school, so students that come to our school, please read the poster so it could persuade you to come to our Lunchtime Sport which is VOLLEYBALL {Like i've said MANY times~}.

It'll be an honour if most school members come because we're still working on how to get the net on to the big metal poles that hang on the side in order for it to hold the net so we could hit the ball over the net!

Hopefully, Most TPS students will come to our Lunchtime Sport - Volleyball and try their best!

🚽How To Behave In The Toilets🚽

IALA: How to BEHAVE in the toilets!

Konichiwa and greetings to you all...
WELCOME BACK TO MY BLOG!

So a couple weeks ago, we did a poster about 'How to behave in the toilets'. This relates to PB4L {Positive Behavior for Learning} and the reason why was because there have been stuff that has happened in the toilets but no need to talk about that.

So anyways, Kia Manawanui ALL created a DLO {Digital Learning Object} about 'How to behave in the toilets' and most of us were really creative, also I really liked mine but I forgot to blog it. Since I was looking through my drive, I saw it and instantly wanted to blogpost it!

Here is my DLO of 'How to behave in the toilets'!

You could follow these rules/information as well if you want to, There are expectations at our school for inside of toilets and outside of toilets, and so far - we are doing very well.

Thank you for reading and make sure to leave your opinions in the comments!

⚡️Self Defence⚡️

WALT: Show what we learned during SELF DEFENCE!

Salam and greetings to you all...
WELCOME BACK TO MY BLOG!

So for today's first block, Kia Manawanui {Girls} had to work on a poster about what we learned during Self Defence. Sadly, our last Self Defence lesson was last week so we all were pretty gutted and I think our instructor Julie was too since she met MARVELOUS students such as us year 7 & 8 girls.

We had learnt a LOT of techniques to do to people who try and harm us or people who bring danger to ourselves when we're by ourselves. These past Self Defence lessons have been extremely helpful knowing that I didn't even know most of the technique's/moves that was taught to us.

Here is my poster {DLO} about the SELF DEFENCE lessons!

Since NOW, I know about what i've been taught during the Self Defence lessons, I could help myself to any danger that comes towards me and now I feel safer and more comfortable.

It's been a pleasure having Julie come to our school and teach us these great/powerful moves that we could do to people who bring harm and danger to ourselves {Like what I've said} and hopefully, she'll come back later on this year and teach us some MORE techniques.

💁‍♀️Polyfest #2💁‍♀️

IALT: Reflect about POLYFEST on Saturday!

Kia Orana and greetings to you all...
WELCOME BACK TO MY BLOG EVERYONE!

So as you can see on my recent blogpost, I blogged about Polyfest on Friday. Now I am blogging about Polyfest that has happened last week, on Saturday. On Saturday, It was VERY packed but luckily we got a close car park to the ASB polyfest entrance which was awesome.

I went with my older sister since my older brother & my mum was there earlier with the other parents and EC Tongan group. They came for prize-giving which is ON Saturday and to be honest, I think if you perform on the actual day of Prize-Giving, then you'll have a 100% chance of placing in the categories you did on stage.

Anyways, HERE IS A DLO {Digital Learning Object} about me @ Polyfest!

The reason why I chose Blue, Green & White for the theme is because the Edgewater Tongan Group had these colours on their costume which represent their school colours.

And if you didn't know, The 2 kinds of dances that the Edgewater Tongan group performed @ Polyfest was the Ma'ulu'ulu - {Combination of singing and doing actions while sitting down} & Soke - {Stick Dance}!

Peep here to take a look @ the Edgewater Tongan group!

Them doing a PRAYER:

The 2 who are wearing different costumes in front are the 'Vahenga', The 'Vahenga' are the Headboy & Headgirl who are people that sit in the middle, front row.

IALT: Reflect about POLYFEST!

Malo e Lelei and greetings to you all...
WELCOME BACK TO MY BLOG!

So on Friday, I went to POLYFEST! And the reason why I couldn't go school WAS because I'd be the ONLY one at home til night and no one will be able to come and pick me up to go to Polyfest so I HAD to go and it was AMAZING!

I went with the Tongan Group from Edgewater College on a bus and as we got to the entrance, The TONGA SISTERS were standing RIGHT THERE! I wanted to get a photo SO badly but I couldn't since my mum already was miles ahead of me but atleast I gave them a hug!

So, I created a DLO about what happened at Polyfest..

What I DIDN'T enjoy about Polyfest that specific day was because I couldn't get a photo with the Tonga Sisters and it was SO hot that my back was burning so much, I had to go sit in the side for a while but NOT in the middle which is where my ACTUAL seat is.

What I found cool about going to Polyfest was that the food there was DELICIOUS! Especially the Chop Suey, Salati Paka, Ota and alot more! I LOVED going to Polyfest also because how it wasn't really packed that much and the ques were not that long really.

Here's a link to the ASB polyfest site - LINK

🇳🇿New Zealand Population🇳🇿

IALA: The Population in New Zealand!

Bula Vinaka and greetings to you all...
WELCOME BACK TO MY BLOG!

Do you know how many people live in New Zealand? Well...I didn't know before but NOW I know - It's 4,736,349 - isn't that CrAzY?! I honestly did NOT know that many people live in New Zealand but now I know now.

We did a task with Ms Komor that includes NZ and our WALT for that task was 'WALT: Describe what makes New Zealand a great place to live in' so we came up with MANY ideas such as:
- Nature
- Native Birds
- People
- Beaches
- Mountains & MANY MORE...

As you can see on top, That is the population RIGHT NOW like today which is the 13th of March but there could be more numbers coming on later this day.

This is AMAZING and I am totally going to be checking this site out for decades and see what our population will be in the future!

If you would like to go onto this site and see the population RIGHT NOW, click the NZ flag ~ 🇳🇿

🎾Kiwisport🎾

IALT: Reflect about Kiwisport!

Kia Ora and Greetings to you all...
WELCOME BACK TO MY BLOG!

So for today, Kia Manawanui had KIWISPORT! As you ALREADY KNOW - Our Kiwisport for this term is Tennis, and our instructor's name is Peter so he is the one who mostly teaches us tips and things that could help us control the Tennis ball when we're hitting it!

So, I made a DLO which is a - Digital Learning Object that reflects and will tell you about our Tennis session that we had this morning.

Here's a previous photo of me when we were doing TENNIS outside!

Oh, and I forgot to mention - We also did Rally's which is when you verse your partner at doing a challenge so I versed Toma who was my partner and what we both found stressful was controlling the ball because whenever we'd hit it - It would just go another way but when Coach Peter saw, he helped us straight away so now I know how to control the ball properly. - (Well...Kind of)

🎵Lucas Proudfoot🎵

IALT: Write an reflection about Lucas Proudfoot's assembly that was this week!

Bonjour and greetings to you all...
WELCOME BACK TO MY BLOG!

On Wednesday - 7th of March - A very special guest who is Lucas Proudfoot came to our school. He is from a small town in Australia and his mother is Aboriginal so he grew up learning about his Aboriginal culture...He came with some instruments which is Didgeridoos & some other instruments too - He brang 2 boomerangs which you can play instruments with too which was AMAZING!!

As I went to this assembly, there was one thing I had learnt and that was, in the Aboriginal culture - ONLY men can play a 'Didgeridoo' and not woman because it's a taboo but according to other information, I've been reading - It says that western woman can play it too but I'm still unsure.

Anyways, It was a LOVELY time having Lucas Proudfoot come to our school and hopefully, he'll be able to come visit Tamaki again..

🤔Inquiry🤔

IALT: Research interesting facts about the road 'Tobruk' which is in our community!

Malo e Lelei and Greetings to you all...
WELCOME BACK TO MY BLOG!

So... Earlier this week, The Kia Manawanui Syndicate researched a LOT of interesting information about this road 'Tobruk' which is the Panmure community - If you didn't know, Tobruk is also a city in Libya and there have been wars there that include The New Zealand Division.

So as a class, we ALL came up with questions so we could answer on a DLO which is a 'Digital Learning Object' so me and my buddy/ultimate close friend Constance Webster decided to make a presentation since it'll be easier to write each question we pick, on each slide that is created.

Stay tuned and read this marvelous presentation that myself & Constance made, It took a LOT of hard-work searching online for information to these questions but at the end of the day - we did a AWESOME job!

➕Maths➕

IALT: Reflect about our P.A.T maths test.

ALOHA EVERYONE!
Welcome back to my blog!

So earlier this week or Last week, The Kia Manawanui Syndicate had a P.A.T maths test. I was pretty nervous since Maths is my least favourite subject but regardless because I still have to work on the test.

During the test, It was extremely difficult - There were just too much numbers to divide, multiply, add etc...But I do like challenges so I completed it.

Like I said, It was difficult because of the math equations but was more nerve-racking was the timer - I think the timer had 40 minutes and it was only 3 MORE minutes left and I was still on the number 21 equation even know there are 41 questions.

There were some questions that WERE easy then the next minute...It just got more harder, that I had to use paper and pen to figure out that specific equation (& the rest).

I came up with strategies that helped me figure some of them out but most of the maths equations that were given were very interesting and it took me a lot of time to think about it.

But I like challenges and I want my Neurons to grow so I tried my VERY BEST!

Thanks for reading, MALO!

🎨Sketch Models🎨

IALT: Reflect about Technology!

HELLO EVERYBODY!
Welcome back to my blog!

So for today's technology session, we made sketch models. We used a type of clay which is called Plasticine which is firmer than Play-dough and does NOT dry out in air.

We've been making phone holders so we used the clay for example so we'd be able to know what we wanna make when the actual day comes of making the phone holder.

This is one of the photos that Ms Ferguson took, she was suppose to take photos of ONLY the model but then me & my friend Cerenity photo bombed it - *wink wink*

We nearly photo bombed ALL of the photos that Ms Ferguson took pictures of, It was hilarious. The model that is in the photo is a Pokemon Ball, phone holder.

Like I said, since we used the Plasticine clay - we had to make different kinds of phone holders so it could give us an idea of what to make when we get the chance to make the actual phone holder.

But after we use it, we have to give it back to Ms Ferguson so other students could design their phone holders like the year 13's which Ms Ferguson will be having again later on that day.

It was a very cool session and cannot wait for next week...
