🎾Kiwisport🎾

IALT: Reflect about Kiwisport!

TALOFA LAVA EVERYBODY!
Welcome back to my blog!

So for today's first block, The Kia Manawanui Syndicate had kiwisport. As you could obviously tell by my last kiwisport post, Our kiwisport for this term is...Tennis. Our instructor's name is Peter and He will be teaching us how to play Tennis for a couple of weeks.

Since last week - we've been practising how to hit the tennis ball with the tennis racket doing a forehand and it was pretty easy and fun also.

But today, we learnt how to hit with a backhand so first we just chucked the ball at our partners by using our backhand and the hand I was comfortable with was my right since I write with it.

I worked with Aletheia since I most likely interact with her more and we both did a pretty good job. What I pretty much liked about this session was the rally when I had to verse Aletheia by trying to hit the tennis ball over the net into 3 cones but one at a time.

What I disliked about this session was that I couldn't really control the ball by like hitting it gently and hard (If you know what I mean) and as I kept hitting the ball over to my partner Aletheia - It went from gently hitting it to each other to hitting it hard but luckily we didn't hit over the fences.

What I've enjoyed about this lesson was getting to learn and play Tennis obviously and also learning new skills which will make my Neurons grow stronger in my brain.

Thanks for reading and comment your opinion!

HELLO EVERYONE!
Welcome back to my blog!

So today at 9:40 in the morning, Home group 1 went to Kiwisport. For our kiwisport, It was Tennis and we'll be doing TENNIS for the whole of this term. Our instructor is Peter and he is pretty cool and calm, and a very kind man but anyways, it was an VERY exciting session today and I CANNOT wait to tell you ALL about it...

So as the WHOLE of Kia Manawanui went down stairs Home group 1 went to Kiwisport and Home group 2 which is my group was going to go do some activities with Ms Komor while Ms Aireen went with Home group 1.

Since my group was with Ms Komor, We decided to do some fitness/exercises! I wasn't really in the mood for it and I was pretty tired but I had a growth mindset and did it, The exercise positions/activities were:
  • Inchworm
  • Squats
  • Downwards Dog
  • Upwards Dog
  • Butt Kicking
After ALL that, We did some Softball then it was time for us to go Kiwisport.

What I had learnt during the lesson of Kiwisport was:

-  Forehand hitting and having patience for the ball to come to yourself so you could have a turn.

What I had enjoyed about this morning block was of course getting to learn Tennis Skills and also getting to communicate and interact with my peer Aletheia!

I had A LOT of fun at Tennis and I can NOT wait for next week's session!

Many Thanks,
Akanesi ;-)

👩🏾‍🎨Te Tuhi Trip👩🏾‍🎨

WALT: Write a reflection about our experience at Te Tuhi.

Hello and greetings to you all...
WELCOME BACK TO MY BLOG!

Today in the morning, Half of the class went to the Te Tuhi art gallery.  It was the first time in 2018 that the year 7 & 8's from Tamaki Primary School got to go to the TE TUHI ART GALLERY! I was already super excited since we got to do some art and crafts.

So as we reached there, Our instructor/tour guide was Salome who was ALWAYS was our instructor so I was very joyful. We did A LOT of stuff at Te Tuhi like our role plays/colleges and look at the ACTUAL art gallery.

3 things I learned at Te Tuhi was:

  • Layering - Like cutting out ALL your images and making them look like the actual image that happens in real life - (It's quite hard to explain).
  • Having Creativity - I was quite stuck on what I was gonna do since our role play was about Tangled, so I wanted to do a collage like it so I did it but luckily Salome helped me.
  • And while I was doing my Role-Play, I needed to speak more clearly and that was the feedback from the classmates so either way, I appreciate it.
Coming back to Tamaki, I brought back a creative mind, growth mindset & positive that I can do what I can DO!

One thing I'd like to spend MORE time on will have to be my work, It looks finished but there are just some bits that needs to be worked on but what it looks like now is what I am happy with at the moment.

One thing that Salome taught me which what I was proud of today was like I said, I got stuck on my work so she helped me do Rapunzel's hair from the tall tower she wasn't allowed of  - It was VERY creative and wonderful!

THANKS FOR READING!

IALT: Reflect about my Hauora work!

ALOHA and greetings to you all...
Welcome back to my blog!
It's been a VERY long time since I've blogged and this is the first blog of 2018! This blog should be a GREAT start to this year and to let you know, this blogpost is about HAUORA!

Hauora means Four walls of different dimensions that are:
  • Spiritual
  • Mental
  • Emotional
  • Physical

The teacher who gave us this task explained to deeply think and complete this task in the given timeframe so I did EXACTLY what she said.

Comment your opinions about the task that was given.

Many Thanks,
Akanesi
