🍸Cooking at Technology🍸

IALT: Reflect about Technology!

Hey Everyone and Welcome back to my blog!

So in the morning, The Kia Manawanui teachers said that we will be rotating Technology classes! I was SO excited because My group which is group 3 is in Cooking class with Ms Tuipulotu!

As we arrived to Tamaki College, We had to get into our 3 groups. Then Ms Kyla gave one person from each group a group roll paper so we could give it to our Technology teacher so they could see who is absent and who is present.

Then we walked to our technology class. Every first day of cooking class, We make Oreo Milkshake Sundaes and I was SO happy to make it so 4 people from our group went with Ms Tuipulotu to get and get the supplies for our cooking.

As they came back, We went inside the classroom and had to use our mathematic skills since there were 20 student and only 8 tables that could only fit 4 so we solved it out and so there were 7 groups of 2 and one of 3.

As you can see, I worked with my peer Constance and this was our Oreo Milkshake Sundaes!

We ALL sat at different tables and had our own sink, stove, draws, dishwashing liquid and supplies to make our dish. But first of all, Since we were the first class for today, We had to sort out the supplies from yesterday.

I love cleaning so I decided to help out some of my classmates who were sitting on the table next to me.  After we cleaned the draws and stacked the pots correctly in the right place, We sat down on our tables and Ms Tuipulotu talked about "What is Food Technology?".

So we came up with ideas like:
  • Learning to cook
  • Naming Equiptment
  • Use of Equiptment
  • Hobbies
  • Upgrade Cooking Skills
  • Safety
  • Life Skills
  • Skills

After we finished the whole process, Ms Tuipulotu got out the ALL the ingredients and placed them next to the materials we needed for the making of The Oreo Milkshake!

The Ingredients:
  • Milk
  • Hershey's Chocolate Syrup
  • Whipped Cream
  • Oreo's
The Materials:
  • Blenders
  • Straws
  • Cups
  • Bowls
First step - Put one packet of oreo's inside the blender!

Second step - Add 2 cups of Milk inside the blender!

Third Step - Close the lid for the blender then blend until you think it's smooth enough!

Fourth Step - Pour the Oreo Mixture into the a big bowl!

Fifth Step - Pour the Oreo mixture from the bowl into your remaining cup!

Sixth Step - Add Whipped Cream and The Hershey's Chocolate Sauce on top!

Seventh Step - Then Enjoy your delicious Oreo Milkshake Sundae!

That's pretty much what I did at Technology today!

📝Writing📝

IALT: Reflect about our writing lesson with Ms Komor!

Hello Everyone and Welcome back to my blog!

So during the middle block, Ms Komor taught us about Language Features because most of us weren't familiar with Language Features and didn't even know what the definitions to some language features were.

So she gave us an example saying that a alliteration, adverbs, adjectives and metaphors etc.. were language features! So that gave me an idea of what a Language Feature is!

So since we had 29 students in our class - We only had 22 students in our class so we had to split into 4 groups because Ms Komor had an INCREDIBLE writing activity based about Language Features to give to us so we could solve it.

She gave each group a zip lock bag with the names of language features, their definition and examples. They were ALL jumbled up in the zip lock bag which did make it difficult for us but we ended up managing to make it ALL in order and correct but only one of them were incorrect but atleast we tried out best!

During the lesson, I learnt a new language feature called Assonance and the definition for it is - resemblance of sound between syllables of nearby words, arising particularly from the rhyming of two or more stressed vowels, but not consonants (e.g. sonnet, porridge ), but also from the use of identical consonants with different vowels (e.g. killed, cold, culled ).

If I did this during school time, I would've remembered the definition in my own words but I feel like a fool because I forgot. Anyways, I did learn a new word which was exciting and I am REALLY happy! Because I get to learn new things and share with you ALL on my blog!

🎂Happy Birthday Ms Kyla🎂

Hey Everyone and Welcome back to my blog!

So I have a very special blogpost for you ALL today! It is Ms Kyla's birthday today and she is turning 30! To be honest, I actually thought Ms Kyla was 27 or 28 but now I am surprised because she turned 30 which is AMAZING because it is a whole new beginning to a NEW age!

In the morning, Room 9 did our Karakia and Roll then went down to Room 10 to sing Happy Birthday to Ms Kyla because she turned 30 today! Then when we reached Room 10, we lined up outside then Losana, Frances & Siale gave Ms Kyla her birthday presents and said a speech on behalf of the Kia Manawanui!

I am happy for Ms Kyla because she turned 30 which is absolute AMAZING! It may sound weird but it seems cool turning 30!

Thanks to Ms Kyla for everything you've done for me for the past few years, I am so happy that your finally turning another age!

May God bless Ms Kyla with many more years to come!

✌️Class Game - Around The World✌️

IALT: Reflect about the class game we played!

Hey everyone and welcome back to my blog!

Just before Morning Tea like at 9:40, Room 9 was suppose to have Hip-Hop with Jasmine but sadly she wasn't there so we wondered why Room 10 was there and Ms Kyla said that they just went into their groups and made up their own choreography so we decided to do that too.

As we arrived to the hall,  We ALL sat down and listened to Ms Tipene who was our reliever. She asked "Does anyone know which group you are in for Hip-Hop?" and most of us said "No".

I think the reason why they said "No" was because they probably didn't want to do choreography, like they only wanted to play games or something. So Ms Tipene just said "Ok then, We'll just play a class game and we'll play another one if we have time".

So she decided that we should play a class game called Around The World. She will ask us general knowledge questions for us to answer and so one person has to stand behind another and then Ms Tipene will ask the question and whoever answers first moves on to the next person etc...etc...

When we finished the game, Ms Tipene suggested to play "Heads Down, Thumbs Up" but ALL of us said No so she told us to line up in the hallway to we could go back to class and do some more work.

➕Maths Reflection➕

IALT: Reflect about Maths today!

Hello Everybody and Welcome back to my blog!

So today for Maths, My group which is the Islander Maths group had to do a task which was solving multiplication and division on paper with many more Maths activities in it, I worked with a friend of mine Ana because we were in the same group and we needed to solve or challenge ourselves to get better.

We worked on a little paper full of equations (100 equations) and it had mixed equations on it for us to complete. Most of them were very hard and I struggled A LOT but I still managed to get on with it using my fingers and my brain!

Image result for maths

As I got to the end, the last equation was a fraction question and it said "1/8 of 32". I instantly knew it was 4 because as you can see that the main numbers are 8 and 32. So I used my thinking skills and tried to solve the answer first.

The I saw the 2 main numbers and multiplied 8 and 4 which made 32, but I was unsure at first so I did it with different equations and it worked so that 's pretty much my strategy  on how to solve fraction equations like that.

But you only have to multiply the main numbers if it has a "1/8" but if your still confused then it only works if the numerator says 1. If it says 2 or 3 then it will not work like for e.g - 2/4 of 32 does not equal 4.

During this lesson, What I found challenging was trying to figure out the fraction equation and trying to come up with the strategy so I could solve that equation and other equations similar to that easier.

My next step in Maths is to challenge myself by solving hard division and multiplication equations or problems so I could get better at it and practice everyday and make it my homework!!!!

What are you thoughts about my work?!

So ALL of that it what I did during Maths and I hope you enjoyed reading!

🙏Church Reflection🙏

IALT: Reflect about yesterday which was Sunday!

Hey Everyone and Welcome back to my blog!

So for today, I have a reflection for you guys! I've decided to talk about yesterday which was God's day! So for most people like us islanders, we are ONLY allowed to play gospel or church music and we're NOT allowed to play any other types of music.

We also are NOT allowed to play on Sunday's but ONLY if it is for a good reason but if not, we are NOT allowed to play on God's day. So now, I will begin to talk about what happened yesterday!

So yesterday, We had sunday school at church and had to memorise or remember A LOT of information about the bible because ALL the sunday school classes will be tested in the end of the year to see how much percent we get so out of ALL years I've went for testing, It has came back ALL 100% but only two came back with 98% and 88%.

I was disappointed when I got 88% in 2015 because it was my first year in a new sunday school (Because we moved classes since we're getting older and older). But anyways, The sermon was about a young boy named Moses who was born in The Land Of Goshen.

But the King Pharaoh ordered ALL male babies will be forced to be thrown into the water. Jochebed who is the mother of Moses put Moses in a basket with a blanket and let him go down the river.

But then the King Pharaoh's daughter Princess Bithya found Moses and since Moses's older sister Miriam was by, she saw the princess hold up the basket...

I didn't really listen to the full story because I began sleeping. But straight after church, I went with my first cousin's and bought 4 snackboxes from KFC so we could eat it since we were gonna go to Happy Days at 5:30.

So we got home and ate the snack boxes but then watched the movies "Beauty & The Beast". It was such a lovely movie and as soon as it nearly finished, we had to go so we could get close parking.

Then we got there and stayed inside for the prayer. When the prayer was finished, We went to go and eat, I was already full but I still wanted to eat more because obviously I can NEVER say NO to FOOD! So after we ate, My mother just had hours and hours of catching up with my aunties because she has been so busy.

After All, We gathered up our stuff and left to go back home.

What I found challenging was having to listen to the WHOLE sermon but I failed because I slept through it which is a bit upsetting for me because my cousins got to hear about the story and said that it was really interesting but atleast I got to listen to some parts!

But my next step is to learn more about the bible and learn more stories from the priest during the sermon. I will try to the best of my ability to NOT sleep during the sermon so I could get hear about the interesting bible stories, the priest say.

🌈Yesterday's Rainbow's End Reflection🌈

IALT: Reflect about going Rainbow's End yesterday!

Hey Everyone and Welcome back to my blog!

So yesterday, My family went to Rainbow's End for my nephew Ofahulu's 1st birthday! The theme was Circus so I went to Rainbow's with a Rainbow tutu, a green little hat, and paint on my face! I was twinning with my 2 nieces and first cousin!

When I got there, I saw some school mates who were Vuni & Fe'ao that were celebrating their mum's birthday! So I hanged out with them for a while then went back to play with my family!

When we got there, I was so excited to hang with my family and at the gate, I saw Toma's sibilings - Maselino & Pisila. I wondered if Toma came but he didn't come which wasn't cool cause I was looking forward to hanging out with him!

Sadly, We only had to stay in the Kidz Kingdom because that was where the birthday was booked at but at the end of the day, I had SO much fun with my family and hope to go again!

😥Pirate Ship at Rainbow's End Retires😥

IALT: Reflect about an article I have read!Image result for pirate ship rainbows end

Hey Everyone and Welcome back to my blog!

Two days ago, I was on my mother's social media and found a post that said "The Pirate Ship at Rainbow's End will be retiring". When I read this post, I was upset because when I was at Rainbow's end for the very first time, The pirate ship was my first ever ride and I enjoyed it so much because of the butterflies I had when the pirate ship went up and down, and up and down etc..

I am upset that it's retiring because it was one of my favourite rides because how it was the closest one to the exit and entry. But I do understand that it retired because it has been at Rainbow's end for a lot of years I guess.

But honestly, This ride was one of my ALL time favourite rides EVER! And I know most people will agree with that!

That was all for today so make sure to check out the future blogposts!
