Janett's Pamflip!

IALT: Reflect about how I worked with Janett on a Digital Pamphlet!
Since today is Tuakana Teina Day, Room 9 will probably be spending the WHOLE day in Room 3 with Room 3. Tuakana Teina day is when you go and bond with your buddy class for a day and have fun with them responsibly. My buddy's name is Janett and she made a Pamphlet about Why she loves Fruit and Vegetables! So Ms Barlow told us if we could make a digital pamphlet with them online so we totally said "YES!". She kept on talking on and on about why she absolutely LOVES fruit and veges and talked about how they were very HEALTHY! She even made a list about Fruit and Veges and needed a bit more so I decided to help her complete it! In this google drawing which is a digital pamphlet that we made, she was one that created it, chose the colours, chose the font and pictures, and also wrote it! As a year 2, she is a fast typer and hopefully when she becomes a senior, she will probably be the fastest typer in the school!

Here is her pamphlet!

Technology!

IALT: Reflect about what I did at Technology!

Today, Room 9 and Room 10 went to Tamaki College for Technology! Group 1 - Cooking, Group 2 - Hard Materials, Group 3 - Graphics (My group). Since group 3 was with Ms Ferguson in Graphics, We got to make clocks and also had to pick a final design for what kind of clock we have to make so I made a Chanel clock for my older sister since she ALWAYS spoils me and gives whatever I want - ONLY for a good and responsible reason, she also supports me and will give me money. I had to choose between two designs to actually pick my final design and it was VERY hard because both of it was for my sister but she loved both brands which were Louis Vuitton and Chanel so I chose Chanel because it was WAY easier for me to draw then having to take me 500 hours just to draw a nice and perfect Louis Vuitton because I am not really great or good at art! Then Ms Ferguson put our drawings in a little machine that looked like a printer and filled in the missing gaps. We then had to colour it in with how many colours we liked to I wanted to do black and white for my clock since Chanel's logo colours were Black & White, The results in the end were great! I was getting distracted by others so I thought for myself and decided to move to another place and I decided to sit with Rosemary in the front! It was great showing the value Tukumarie which means Tolerance to my peer Rosemary and was REALLY great getting to know ALL about her! Now I am so excited for next week's Technology!

Fitness!

IALT: Reflect about what I have been improving during the days at Fitness!!
Everyday after Morning Tea, Kia Manawanui which is Room 9 and 10 have Fitness! We firstly get into our groups to start of our daily fitness routine, We ALL have to run around the bike track ALL the way back to the top courts! While we are running, Miss Kyla or Ms Komor will time us and We were trying to beat our time last week which was probably 3 minutes and 58 seconds but today the WHOLE of Kia Manawanui ran around the bike track before the teachers even came so the teachers Kelly, Ms Kyla and Ms Kalennjuk weren't able to time us but hopefully she will be able to time us tomorrow! I was really proud of myself as I did fitness because on the very first day of fitness, I was SO lazy and was probably the last person to come to the finish line when we had to run around the whole bike track and pretty much wasn't able to the fitness workouts and activities the teacher instructed us to do! We all had to do Lunges, Star Jumps, Shuttle Runs, Squats and Step-Ups, I think that the most hardest workout was doing Star Jumps for 1 or 2 minutes and if you think that Star Jumps are easy? Think again. Then in the end, The teachers congratulated us for doing our fitness wonderful!

Smallest Hotel In The World!

IALT: Reflect about an article I read!

Today for SSR, I read a Kiwi Kids article and just realised that there is a smallest hotel in the world! It's called a "Capsule Hotel" which has opened in inner-city Sydney, It was pretty surprising because in that small hotel, It could fit everything a normal hotel has like a Bed (Single), Wifi, Linens, Towels, Storage Locker and a Temperature Control!
It $50 per night and is even cheaper than a taxi ride home and is ever since it started weeks ago, Sydney's Capsule Hotel has already started BOOMING!

If I lived in this hotel then I will pretty much be SO comfortable because I do really hate sleeping somewhere and like in a big room because hotel room are pretty big right? I would also love to live there because it's just $50 per night which for you guys might be so expensive but in my perspective, I think it's not!

But I do wonder if other people feel comfortable living in that small hotel especially because how the hotel is small!

Infographic Cybersmarts!

IALT: Talk about my Infographic DLO and reflect about my cybersmarts lesson!

Today at 10:00am, Room 9 had a cybersmarts lesson with Ms Shearing! In the lesson we talked about What makes a good quality blogpost! Like putting in relevant photos and labels on with a catchy title! We got to make a digital learning object (DLO) about what makes a good quality blogpost!

We also had to decorate it and make it look good so I decided to put in some Tamaki Primary students in it and tell us what makes a good quality blogpost which as you might know that - Tamaki Primary are very SMART and love to LEARN, CREATE & SHARE!

It was a GREAT time during this lesson because I got to work with some peers and let them read my blog posts to see if I am a beginner, stepping up or smart learner and so far I am pretty much stepping up and as I still currently attend Tamaki Primary! I am going to work my way to being a Smart who has potential learner!

It was WONDERFUL showing our school value AKO which means Sharing Learning! I got to share my learning with different people around the classroom who I don't really talk to! But so far so good, I have enjoyed myself in this lesson and also got to learn more about Cybersmart which I was really proud of!

World's Largest Haka Record Broken!

IALT: Reflect about an article I read!

I just read this article and realised that The World's Largest Haka Record has been broken! Over 7700 people have broken The World's Largest Haka! The original record was pretty much broken in France and 4028 participated in the Haka but then last year in Masterton, The haka was again broken and 6000 people participated and contributed into the haka but this year it was broken again! Isn't that AMAZING?

The destination was at Rotorua's Lakeside Village Green and if the numbers are confirmed then Rotorua's Lakeside Village Green would set a new record for The World's Largest Haka! It's so wonderful because even Teenagers and Kids under the age of 15 participated in the Haka which is INCREDIBLE!

The massive haka was for the British and Irish Lions who were going to play the Maori All Blacks in Rotorua in the weekend! The international rugby club organised the event and was really confident that they smashed it and he was right because the record was smashed!

It was even better because local schools joined the haka like Rotorua Boys ' High School and Rotorua Girls ' High School who lead the haka with the help from some other Kapa Haka leaders like Wetini Mitai Ngatai and Eraia Kiel!

Kiwisport!

WALT: Play Basketball and improve with our shooting and dribbling!

Image result for basketball clipart playing

Today at 9:40am, Room 9 went downstairs to Kiwisport and just played basketball games with Coach Hyram and Coach Peter since it was the last Kiwisport with them!

Firstly, we played Golden Child since that was Room 9's favourite game to play during Kiwisport and in the first round - The Cavs won but then in the second round, my team won which was The Menes! It was so funny too because the teams just wanted to win and only if they knew that they could win by focusing on their shooting instead of rushing to hurry up and win!

The challenges I got from this game was when we had to shoot the ball in the hoop! I am usually use to shooting like in "netball shooting" but we had to shoot like in "basketball shooting"! But at least I got one in!

The best part of the lesson was when were pretty much just playing Golden Child and how our team kept on winning but you know what? We had to be humble and also congratulate the other team on winning the first round and they were really lucky!

What I liked the least about the lesson was when we started to play numbers and when Coach Peter called out 2 or 4 and I was one of them, my leg would start to hurt and then I just have to power walk when we play cause it just gets sore then sore!

My thoughts and feeling about the lesson is happy and excited but at the same time sad! The reason why I am happy and excited is because we get to have a 45 minute lesson with them and play fun and cool games til we get tired! The reason why I am also sad is because this is the last lesson with them and hopefully the coaches will pursue a career of playing actual Basketball! (Only if they want to)

What I learnt during this lesson was my dribbling because I couldn't keep it on just one hand, I just had to bounce with both of my hands in the beginning but now that I use to go to our Basketball Kiwi sport lessons at school, Also including my shooting - I learnt how to shoot like in "Basketball Shooting" by using the B.E.E.F technique I have learned A LOT about how to dribble properly and also how to shoot properly!

Free Writing - Why is fitness important?

WALT: Free write about why is fitness important?

Image result for fitness running

Today, Room 9 is going to free write about why fitness is important!

Firstly, The reason why fitness is important is because we could get fit as you can tell "Fit - Ness" and also to help our body be A LOT healthier but if we probably didn't even do fitness then we'll ALL probably just be lazy but now that we are doing it, It helps us be A LOT more fit and also a great beginning for the Year 8's when they attend college and start doing P.E!

Secondly, Fitness is mostly important for younger generation because they will ALWAYS be on the internet or in front of the television instead of doing a Physical activity outside or with her/him friends and family! Also especially if your child/kid because obese!

Thirdly, Fitness is a great activity to do each day and no offence but you could lose weight doing it too and when you do it so much then you could burn so much calories! Also mostly eating healthy foods too when you finish doing fitness instead of eating junk food!

The last reason is... Doing fitness is a AMAZING family activity that you could do daily and to keep you and your family healthy!

My Tapa Cloth Design!

IAL: To blog about my Tapa Cloth Design!

Today, I have worked on a Tapa Cloth Design about my culture, traditions and beliefs! As you might know, I am Christian, I am Full Tongan, I adore my family very much, I really love music and I am a child of god! We worked a presentation about Pasifika and had to create a Tapa Cloth about ourselves and our traditions!

I am very grateful for everything that has came in my life and also VERY grateful that I am coming to school! I do pray to our heavenly father EVERY night and tell him how grateful I am for what he does for us and to bless us and guide us!

Also I forgot to mention that I LOVE flowers and also think they are a common thing in Tonga because most of the Tongan woman wear flowers EVERYWHERE and also I LOVE eating pig roasted which is called a Umu in Tongan which is also in the google drawing!

This might be surprising but I have memorised 27 bible verses in Tongan and I am pretty sure you might know them so I will try my best to translate them in English:
  • John 3:16
  • John 1:12
  • John 5:12
  • John 20:31
  • Philips 4:4
  • Psalm 23:1-2-6
  • Psalm 90:1
  • Psalm 25:5
  • Psalm 30:1
  • Psalm 119:105
  • Psalm 128:1-4
  • Ephesians 6:1-2
  • Ephesians 5:17
  • 1 Corinthians 3:11-16-17
  • 1 Timothy 4:12
  • 2 Timothy 3:16
  • Colossians 3:23
  • Proverbs 10:11
That's pretty much ALL of my 27 Bible Verses!

Here is my Tapa Cloth Design:

Congratulations Losana!

IAG: To congratulate Losana on 600 blog posts!

I just wanna say a MASSIVE congratulations to Losana for reaching 600 Blog Posts while she was at school! She has given me a LOT of learning tips as I attended Tamaki Primary School! She also has helped me to be the learner I am today! She deserves a BIG congratulations and hopefully she will be able to reach 800 or even 1,00 blog posts this year!

Thankyou for helping me a LOT this year with my work and telling me to do my work when I keep on getting distracted! I believe that you will be able to reach 1,000 blog posts by the end of this year and hopefully you will be able to do it!

Again, A BIG congratulations to Losana for reaching 600 blog posts! You'll probably be the next Willy who reached 1,000 blog posts too while he was still at Tamaki Primary but it's alright because he's probably still blogging at Edgewater College which is the college I will be attending when I am a Year 9!

Once again, Congratulations Losana!
Also congratulations Gary for reaching 600 blog posts too!

Songwriting Lesson!

IALT: Reflect about my first songwriting lesson!

Today, I got the chance to go to Songwriting with my class peers! We were writing a song about Healthy eating and created some lyrics that we came up by ourselves to match with Bruno Mars - That's what I like! It was a great experience and is also very relaxing there and coming up with ideas to add to the song.

Right now, we are already finished and Caleb is thinking that we should perform it in front of the whole school since we're finished and how there is going to be a assembly after Lunch! When I looked at the song, It sounded and looked so cool and I wished I could've listened to it a thousand times more!

All these people that have participated and contributed must ALWAYS be excited going to Songwriting and off course I will always have a BLAST and also a great time going every friday to Songwriting! Now that I have joined Songwriting, Sadly I will not be able to go to Keyboard anymore but I had a WONDERFUL time at Keyboard too and hope they will come up with something creative and be a amazing keyboard player EVER!

What I enjoyed was when everyone participated and contributed into this and showed the school value Ako by sharing what they learned in Songwriting with EVERYONE!

Thanks for reading! Feel free to leave a comment! Bye!

Technology Reflection!

IALT: Reflect about what I did at Technology yesterday!

Here are my Concept Ideas:

Yesterday Morning, Kia Manawanui went to Technology at Tamaki College! I was in Graphics with Ms Ferguson and we were still beginning to make a clock that will kind of work! We had to make Two designs and my designs were a Chanel clock and a Louis Vuitton clock! I've mostly been struggling try to draw the Louis Vuitton on to my clock so I decided to go with making my Chanel clock which was WAY easier!

I worked with Frances because she's a great artist and was pretty good at drawing a Chanel and Loui Vuitton logo! On a spear paper that no one needed, She drew a massive Chanel logo and also a massive Loui Vuitton logo then she told me that it will probably be easier if I just copied of the big paper she drew the logo's on then the chromebook I was looking at!

We learnt about Compare and Contrast between a orange and a banana! We had to think about the similarities between them like for example, They are edible, They both have bright colours, They both grow on trees, They both are fruit. Then we had to think of the differences between them like again for example, They are both different shapes (Banana - Crescent & Orange - Sphere), They're both different colours, Banana's grow in a bunch and Orange's grow separately!

So we had to do the same tasks but between the different kinds of clock's we will make, I think that for all of us in Graphics with Ms Ferguson, It will only be possible just to make a Analog Clock but if not then I am mistaken!

Sugar Wordsearch!

IALT: Create a poster, rap or wordsearch about Sugar and how it could affect our brain when we eat sugar!

Here is the Sugar Wordsearch that we created!

Today, me and my class peer Ana worked on a wordsearch about how sugar could affect our brain when we eat it! This also the second time I have did a wordsearch and if you think that making or doing a word search is easy? Nope, it's hard because you have to carefully know where you put the words before they wouldn't be able to fit or there might not be that much space!

Ms Komor created a presentation for us to research about how sugar affects our brain when we eat it! We also got to know new meanings of words and one of them are Dopamine! If you want to know what Dopamine is when you get on stage and you're like nervous (Pretty much most people are nervous going on stage), and then in the end of your nerve is Dopamine!

It was a great time with a wordsearch about how sugar could affect our brain when we eat it with my class peer Ana! Because we both got to participate and contribute into this and make a creative poster, rap or song and I am happy that we both agreed on this!

It was also a wonderful time get to know her much much better as a friend and actually got to show the school value Ako (Shared Learning) and Whanaungatanga (Building Relationships) to her and hopefully she will do the same thing to everyone else!

In the end, It was a very FUN time (also known as a BLAST!) working with my class peer and hopefully I will be able to work with her again!

Tree Planting Reflection!

IALT: Reflect about our trip to Paddington Reserve for Tree Planting!

Today, Room 9 went to Ra Whakato Rakau - Matariki! We were lucky because The Kia Manawanui got invited to participate and contribute in this event! The reason why we participated in this event was because it was part of Matariki which we were doing this week!

We were ALL so tired because we had to walk there and it was like the first time I have EVER walked to Glen Innes! The teachers said that it was near Pak n Save but really it was WAY far then that! I was so excited when we got to Pak n Save because I really thought that it was near Pak n Save when really....!

Anyways, When we got there, There were only probably one school there and some students from Point England school who were walking around and interviewing some of students from our school!

Everyone stared at us because we came up with a Karakia when we finished planting the tree and it was a pleasure that the Madd Ave director Tamati told us to read our Karakia out loud for the other schools!

Kiwisport!

IALT: Show Teamwork while playing Basketball!

Today, Room 9 went downstairs and played probably the LAST session of Kiwisport! It was a BLAST hanging out with Coach Peter and Coach Hyrum (Also to coach Yaran who was there to replace Coach Hyrum when he was sick!). I learnt A LOT of things while playing Basketball and using the B.E.E.F technique which is:

  • B - Balance
  • E - Eye on the target
  • E - Elbow
  • F - Follow through

Firstly, We played Golden Child and its when one team has to have each a turn and shoot the ball in while the other team has to run around the WHOLE court and if one of the teammates from the other team get a point because they got the ball in the hoop then the person thats running around the whole court has to stop and the next person goes and it just follows through like that! But in the end will be the Golden Child - (If I had to pick the golden child then I will have to pick the fastest people in the team!).

ALL the people who got stopped by the the people on the other team because they got the ball in the hoop, The golden child frees them and has to run with ALL of the people who stopped around the court to the end and if everyone reaches the end when no one from the other team shoots the hoop then they win!

Luckily our team won! The other team won only 1 or 2 times but my team won 5 times which was AMAZING! It's like whenever Gary is in our team, we win but if he is not in our team then we lose!

During Basketball, as we are still playing games, I have learnt how to build more friendships with my class peers which means I showed the value Whanaungatanga! I also learnt how to work with my team and also add their ideas so we can make a solution on how we should win and I think that's the reason why we even WON!

Also how we didn't pressure each other when the golden child came so it was easier for our teammates to get it in because we need to focus and if so much distraction is coming from the background, we won't be able to concentrate so we could get the ball in!

Thankyou! Feel free to leave a comment! Bye!

Tree Planting Information!

IAGT: Talk with you about Tree Planting and also talk about Tree Planting facts!

Today, Room 9 is doing Free Writing about Tree Planting! The reason why we have to talk about Tree Planting is because Kia Manawanui (Which is Room 9 and Room 10) are going to Whakato Rakau - Tree Planting for Matariki! Since Matariki is coming up soon, Ms Kyla from Room 10 decided that we should go Tree Planting because it relates to Matariki as you can tell and also is near Pak n Save well really across it!

So, Tree Planting is when you change tree seedling into another place which is called transplant! It's when you can change a trees seedlings into another situation or place but is generally for Forestry, Land Reclamation, or Landscaping Purpose!

Tree Planting is also maybe based on unlike or dissimilar trees which are in Arboriculture!

Thanks for reading about some Tree Planting facts and information! Feel free to leave a comment! Bye!

LEARN, CREATE & SHARE Matariki Word Search!

IALT: Talk about how I created a Word Search based about Matariki!

🙌Mind my hands!🙌

Today, Room 9 had to finish off a presentation about Matariki! If you don't know what Matariki means then it means The Seven Sisters! But really one of the stars are called Matariki and she is the mother of the other six stars! Their names are Matariki, Tupu-a-rangi, Tupu-a-nuku, Uru-a-rangi, Waipuna-a-rangi, Waiti and Waita!

In the end of the presentation we had to finish off with something creative like a poster, song, rap, poem, game, powtoon, video, movie, skit, newscast, puzzle, paper chain, video game, time and also a word search like I did!

I thought that Ms Komor's idea was REALLY creative and I am now proud of myself that I made a word search about Matariki and how it is the first word search I have EVER did!

Anyways thanks for reading bloggers! Please feel free to leave comment! Bye!

Janett's Artwork Explanation!

IALT: Reflect about how I developed new facts about my Room 3 buddy Janett and what's the most important things in her life!

Today, Me and my buddy Janett had a activity to do the most important things in her life because tomorrow they will be going to the art gallery that we went to last term which was the Te Tuhi Art Gallery but they will be able to make Tapa Cloths there which supports the most important things in their LIFE!

In this Google Drawing, You will see that she LOVES her culture which is Samoa, Going to Church, Learning about God & Jesus, Hanging out with Family, Going School, Wearing Flowers and watching the Movie Moana!

It was a massive BLAST hanging out with my Room 3 buddy and will hopefully do it again another time! It was also so great to know more better because before she was ALWAYS shy and didn't really talk much but now she does and is very happy with learning and also is very smart at explaining why the things that are important to her, are important to her! (Sorry if that don't make sense).

Again hopefully she could create a beautiful Tapa Cloth tomorrow at The Te Tuhi Art Gallery about the most important things in her LIFE! And also will be able to show it to her friends and parents so they could be proud of her!

Here is a photo of us!

Maths Activities Reflection!

IALT: Develop new skills in Maths with my class peers!

Today during the middle block, Room 9 got split into 5 or 6 groups! We had to also pick an Maths activity like for example - Cards, Place Value or Multiplication Cards! The reason why we had to do this was because our parents will be coming to check out what's going on with our learning and what skills we have developing at school lately!

In my group, I had Sene, Losana and Ana! Sadly, My mother was busy so she wasn't able to come and see my learning but hopefully next time she could come! As a group, We decided to get some cards and play some multiplication, division or addition! But we wanted to challenge ourselves so we decided to just do Division or Multiplication. We also decided as a group that if we win, then we will get to do Torture (Well, not really torture). The Torture was Slaps, High Fives, Hand Squeeze or Wrist Squeeze, Luckily none of these even hurted so that's what we decided!

None of our family members came and got to see our learning which was a shame but it's alright because maybe they might come next time! Ms Komor saw us play gracefully and quietly so she decided to join us playing Multiplication with the cards! She was in I and Ana's team because we were pretty much losing but when she was in our team, Our team pretty much nearly one three games against Sene and Losana! Don't worry, It was fair because Ana decided that she wanted to flip the cards over so we could answer them!

It was a REALLY great time bonding with my peers and also was a GREAT time working as a team and also being competitive against each other which was really funny! Because we were really loud and Ms Komor had to growl us but luckily it was only once!

What I have learnt from this activity was showing the school value Manaakitanga, Whanaungatanga and Ako! I have also learned some new skills from Losana and Sene on how to get the answer for the multiplication questions fast! I also knew my nine time tables because I was using my hands and they thought I was cheating when really I wasn't!

In the end, It was a BLAST!

Blog Commenting!

IALT: Reflect about Blog Commenting!

Today, I have decided to comment on some Manaiakalani Cluster Schools! The school that I blog commented was Point England School! I commented on a Year 7 student's blog and also a family member of mine who is a Year 8 student's blog! Here are the photos of what I commented on their blog!

You can check out their blog's...HERE...&....HERE!
On Tevita's who is a Year 7 from Point England blogged about how Kooshes were invented in 1873! If you don't know what Kooshes are then they are those little rubber puffy things that get sell in Dollar stores or shops! I really thought that it was made in the 21st Century or 20th Century but nope it wasn't! Here is a picture of it if you still dont know what it is!Image result for kooshes

Then on Vinolia's who is a Year 8 from Point England School wrote about an interesting article about Jack and The Beanstalk! I wanted her to keep the story going but in the end, It made it even more interesting because she said "TO BE CONTINUED!".

It was great commenting on different Manaiakalani Cluster School and of course I will do it again soon!

Kiwisport Reflection!

WAL: How to shoot directly at the Target in Basketball!

Image result for basketball

Yesterday Morning, Room 9 went downstairs and had a Basketball Session with Coach Peter and Coach Yaran because Coach Hyrum wasn't there. We had to warm up because there was bad weather outside and kept on raining then stopping but we just still went on with the session! So we had to go to the side of the court and skip across the court 2x and then Coach Yaran instructed us to jog making your legs go up to your bottom so then we had to do that 2x.

After that, We then had to run high knees across the court and back! It was really tiring for me but then I just kept on going! Then we got split into boys and girls, and also had to shoot in the hoop and show the instructors how we demonstrate B.E.E.F which is:

  • B - Balance
  • E - Eye On The Target
  • E - Elbow
  • F - Follow through
Sadly, It started Pouring which is raining so we had to come up to our classroom! Since our classroom was to small to play in, The Basketball instructors decided to tell us some questions and if we get it right then we get a point. If you get up to 3 points then you're REALLY lucky because the rest of the class will have to do 5 Pushups, Sit Ups or Star Jumps while you just sit there and relax!

The first person who got up to 3 points first was Siale and everyone had to face their consequences. It was really funny because some people weren't even doing what they were suppose to be doing and some even got a funny growling from the instructors! We also had to work as a team to figure out the positions they play in Basketball.

The positions were:
  • Small Forward
  • Power Forward
  • Center
  • Point Guard
  • Shooting Guard
We got to ask the instructors some questions and I was really surprised when the Basketball Instructor Yaran said that he has actually played with Steven Adams. He says that Steven Adams is a really humble guy that hasn't even changed even though he has Hundreds of Millions of Dollars. Yaran even said that people ask why Steven Adams doesn't get a haircut and he replies with "I don't have enough money" even though he has heaps of money!

The Basketball Instructor also said that even though Steven Adams has heaps of money like other famous Basketball players who are Lebron James or Kevin Durant buy stuff and one time, The camera crew asked Steven Adams what he got with his money and he replied with "I got a brand new cellphone!". We all started laughing and was hilarious when he told us about it!

What I learned was when we got to practice how to shoot directly to the target by using the B.E.E.F technique to help me get the basketball in the hoop to score a point for our team!
In the end, It was a really fun basketball session and will also hopefully have a great Basketball Session next week!

White Water Rafting Powertoon Experience!

WALT: Reflect about The Vector Wero White Water Rafting Experience!

Today, Me, Losana and Ana worked on a Powertoon about our experience we had when we went Last friday to The Vector Wero White Water Rafting Park! In this Powertoon, We talked about What happened, The Safety Rules we had to follow and a poster!

We decided to use Powertoon because it was a new site that we heard for learning we were really wanting to use it but we couldn't share to others to work on it and edit it on different netbooks or chromebooks so we all decided to work on it with Losana and her netbook!

It was really fun making this Powertoon with my Class Peers or Buddies! Also was really fun getting to know a new site that now know about learning and that we could use to LEARN, CREATE and SHARE!

Click HERE to go and reading our Powertoon presentation!

Thanks for Reading Bloggers! Feel free to leave a comment! Bye!
PS - Please also Feel Free to leave a comment on the powertoon site for our presentation! Thankyou again! Bye!

White Water Rafting Poster Reflection!

WALT: Reflect about our trip to Vector Wero White Water Rafting Park!

On Last Week Friday, Room 9 got lucky enough by Ms Thompson to go to The Vector Wero White Water Rafting Park! We all got to wear life jackets and also had a talk about The Safety Rules when we go rafting!

We each got split into two groups and went with 2 instructors, We then got to a river of rapids and the instructor taught us about when we all fall in the water and someone is injured in the rapids, We will have to surround that person and make a diamond.

The bigger people will have to go to the front and the smallest people have to go to the back! The reason why the bigger people had to go to the front was because since the rapids are coming to us, they will have to handle the rapids coming to them since their bigger because the rapids are pretty hard and even if the smaller or medium people have to go to the front, They will automatically fall when the rapids come so that's why the bigger people have to go to the front!

During the trip, The scariest part was when we got to jump in the center of the rapids but luckily we floated back up because of our life jackets! But there was a little waterfall in the end and I went pretty much underneath it and it was really horrifying but I think that the Life Jackets saved my life (No wonder why it called "Life" Jackets!). I also talked to some of my mates and Sharon, and they said that they went underneath it too so luckily I wasn't the only one!

Also the funny and happy parts of the trip was when the instructor said that there has been NO accidents at the Water Rafting Park too which was GREAT! Another wonderful part was when we went through the rapids, the second time and Kensington lost his paddle, It was hilarious by the look on his face but when went down the little waterfall, I was still paddling and my paddle got grabbed by the waterfall and went underneath!

Then they started laughing at me! When Kensington lost his paddle, One of the instructors grabbed it and gave it to him but my paddle was still far so I didn't get to paddle! So Losana offered to give me her paddle so she could have a rest and Of course I said "YES!" to her and she just sat there staring at the water!

In the end, She didn't get to paddle the whole way so she was so lucky! I loved going to the White Water Rafting Park and would also LOVE to go again!

Tactix Wins First Game In 400 Days!

IALT: Reflect about an article based on Tactix wins first game in 400 days!

I just finished reading this article and just realised that a netball team has JUST won in 400 days! Isn't that crazy? The Canterbury Tactix have just scored their first game in 400 days to break a 19 game losing streak! They won in the ASB stadium where they played The Northern Stars and beat them by 46-43. I think that was a close game because The Northern Stars just needed 4 more points to beat The Canterbury Tactix!

That must of been the best day of their netball lives because they haven't even won a game in a year and months! Luckily they got the energy to actually play well in the game and also actually Focus! Because if they wouldn't focus or concentrate on what they are doing, They would of never won the game but they really really lucky!

I think that this must of been a great opportunity for them! They ALL did hard work in that game and for me, I am REALLY proud of them because All these months of losing has caused them to become stronger and stronger so they that the game against The Northern Stars was very important so they had to play it to their best!

They must be really tired of all of the hard work they have been putting in just to reach to that special and amazing moment right there! Just thanks the man above for blessing them and making them win once again!
