Reflection about After School - Akanesi

WALT: Reflect about after school.
As I walked home and put my lunch box in the kitchen, My Brother In Law Charlie asked me if we should go to Gravity which is a Trampoline Park and of course I said Yes so we got ready and went. When we got there, I was super excited because the only Trampoline Park that I have been to is Jump but I was excited to try a new Trampoline Park. So Charlie payed for us kids and we ran to the top of the stairs and started jumping on the Trampolines like a bouncing ball. I did some flips and cartwheels and was so amazed because they had a basketball hoop on top of a Trampoline so me and my cousins started playing Basketball. By playing for just 20 minutes, I was already tired so I went to Charlie and drank my drink. I then soon got up from drinking my drink and started to play once again. After an hour of playing, it was time to go home so we walked outside, hoped in the car and went. In my opinion, Gravity has lots of things that are different to Jump but I will still recommend Jump. The End

Reflection About Weekend - Akanesi

WALT: Reflect on our Weekend.
On Saturday, We went to my first cousin's wedding. It was beautiful and awesome because there was a photo booth and I took lots of photos to hang them on my wall since it was the first time I was in a photo booth. It was great because the bride and groom looked wonderful and everything went so well but sadly they will be moving to Australia on Monday. Their wedding was absolutely fascinating and I was so happy for them, it was also fantastic because as I was dancing (Tau'olunga), Konrad Hurrell was in the back of me dancing (Taufaleing) and lying on the ground to let me put my foot on him. Then On Sunday, We had to cook so we could go and eat with the Princess of Tonga's nieces because they had to sort and plan the whole of the Queen's Funeral. As it came night, we kissed the Princess and her nieces, and went back home to sleep.
The End.

Kiwisport Reflection - Akanesi

WALT: Reflect on Kiwisport
Today Room 9 went downstairs to the hall for our Badminton Lesson with Ben (Coach). As we got there, Ben told us to come outside to play stuck in the mud for a warmup. After we played stuck in the mud, we came back inside and got given rackets and shuttles to every two students who partnered together and Ben told us some instructions before we play. He taught us about how to hit a shuttle with a forehand and a backhand. As we were learning how to hit the shuttle with a forehand first, it was very difficult because it sometimes will usually hit my face and also I will always miss the shuttle when they throw it or pass it to me to hit. It sounded and looked pretty easy when Ben was showing an example to the class but when I tried it, it was hard. Since I was a right handed, I had to bring my right foot forward and left foot back to balance and also to hit the shuttle properly.
I had lots of fun learning more tips about Badminton and Thank you for reading.

Queen's Funeral - Akanesi

IALT: Write a Recount about after school.
Yesterday after school, I went to the Queen of Tonga's Funeral. It was really sad seeing her in the coffin like that, that I cried my eyes out but did it quietly. Knowing that she was my Great Grandmother's Niece, I wanted to come and pay my respect before she goes to Tonga and gets buried on Saturday. I responsibly walked up to the coffin and cried for a little while kissing her face, It was so terrifying to see that she was actually in a coffin. After I kissed her, I went to go to kiss the Princess of Tonga whose name was Pilolevu. She was upset too and started crying as I hugged her and asked me to read some bible verses in Tongan to her mother. As I read my bible verses, The one that I read was Saame 23:1 - Ko hoku tauhi a sihova, e ikai teu masiva. Translation - Pslam 23:1 - The lord is my shephard, I shall not want. As I read my bible verses, I got a little teary but just carried on. When I finished, I hugged the Princess of Tonga again and went back home. As we reached home, I went into bed and prayed to god to look after the queen and keep her safe. Thank you for Reading and Please leave a comment down below!

Kiwi Can Reflection - Akanesi

WALT: Reflect on Kiwi Can!
On Tuesday 21st of February, We had Kiwi Can in the music room. We were putten into 4 groups and talked about the how powerful your tone of voice is. We used different tones of voices and talked to the people that were next to us about how they felt. After that, we walked around the room with the music turned on and when it stops, we will have to look for a person that the closest to us and had to tell them our Name, Nationality, What you want to be when you grow up, and Favourite Food. I was partnered with Leilani and we had to talk about those things together. For Example, My Name is Akanesi, I am Tongan, I want to be a Flight Attendant or Nurse when I grow up and My Favourite food is Tongan Food. Then we Mr M and George gave us sentence to work on and make it a play and also do the opposite tone of it. Here are the Four Sentences that we had to do a play with:

  • Coach yelling at student for missing a pass
  • Someone selling another persons thing and braking it
  • Parents telling their child great work for Report
  • Friends making cookies and others hating it
After we watched everyone's play about the tones we use, I knew that it was very important for you to use your tone carefully towards others.

Reflection On The Weekend! - Akanesi

This is my Reflection on the Weekend!

On Friday Evening, We went to Rainbow’s End which was the night rides. As we got there I was so exhausted from school but was also Joyful and Excited at the same time, So we hopped out of the car and sprinted to the entry of Rainbow’s End. Soon after that, we raced to the Fear Fall and sat on the seats. When I got to the fear fall, My heart was beating really quick and had a billion butterflies in my stomach because how I was so scared of heights but just done it so I can get over my fear. Minutes later when the ride had finished, I was so astonished and proud of myself even though I was gonna puke when I got up there but managed to keep myself calm.

Then on Saturday, We drove to Mission Bay. As we got there, I was jumping up and down like someone bouncing a basketball because I hadn’t have a swim in 3 weeks so I was super thrilled that we got to go there and was so merry about it. So we got out of the car and went to find a spot where the trees were because it was really sunny and hot so we wanted to go look for some shade. Soon as we found a spot, I dropped all the bags that I was holding and ran to the beach. It was so nice because as I was running, the breeze was flowing to my face and smelled so refreshing and great. So then I dived into the beach trying to look underwater but was so disgusted because the water was dirty all around and seaweed came to my face but still enjoyed the fun. Hours later, I came out of the beach because I was too tired to swim and wanted to change so I did.

When it was Sunday, I went to church because my Uncle was Malangaing (Sermoning) and I had to read a Hymn and a Bible verse which was Sione 3:16 - He na’e ofa pehe ae otua ‘ki mamani, Koia na’a ne foaki hono alo tofu pe ‘ taha ne fakatupu, Koe ‘ uhi koia kotoa pe oku tui piki tai kiate ia. Ke Oua na’a auha kae ma’u ae mo'ui ta’engata. (Translation) John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal life. After I read it, He began to keep on Sermoning til church finished. Soon as church finished, We went to Happy Days and ate until Happy Days closed.

Then when it went to Waitangi Day, we just stayed at home and cleaned the whole house since my cousins, uncles, aunties, nieces and nephews came over for a birthday party. We had KFC, Macdonalds, Seafood and Tongan food like Ota, Kumala, Lu, Manioke, Talo, Feke, Puaka. After the birthday party, we came inside and watched some movies till we went to sleep. The End.

Technology Wood Work (Hard Materials) - Akanesi

Technology!
Today, we went to Tamaki College for Technology. We got putten into 3 groups of 21 and was sent to three teachers who were Mrs Tuipulotu, Mr Grundy and Ms Ferguson. Group one was sent to go work with Ms Ferguson, Group two was sent to go and work with Mrs Tuipulotu, and Group three went to work with Mr Grundy. I was in Mr Grundy’s group and we had to draw on paper some designs that we could do with wood. Mr Grundy is very strict when it comes to working with wood but is also funny at the same time. I didn’t really like doing Technology because all we had to do was draw the design and not make it but I enjoyed thinking of the designs that I will be doing that was Skateboards, Chair, Boats and all sorts of things. I am really excited for next week when we make it and Hope you enjoyed my Blogpost!
