WALT: Reflect on what we have done through the past weeks.

Today, Room 8 have been reflecting on what we have done with Room 2 yesterday - October 20th 2016. Yesterday at 12:00, Room 2 had joined Room 8 in making Niuean Flag Collages. Me and my 2 buddies, Grace and Blakey had a great time working in 3's.

My highlight of yesterdays buddy time was working with my small buddy Blakey and also working as a team!

My End Of Term 3 Reflection - Akanesi

This is my end of Term 3 reflection.

 I really enjoyed Term 3 because I got to learn about decimals and Ratios. I also liked Decimals and Ratios because I found them really hard but just kept on trying. One thing I liked about Term 3 was the Life Education Bus, I loved the Life Education Bus because I got to learn all sorts of body parts in my body and also how they work which was really interesting and when I told my family, they didn't know one single fact! Another Highlight I'll miss about Term 3 was The Senior Olympics, I liked doing the Senior Olympics because I loved showing the school values and also the Olympic values around our school while we were playing. One of my most FAVOURITE things I loved about Term 3 was performing on Tongan Language Week and reading my Tongan speech to Ruapotaka Primary School and My school Tamaki Primary because I liked representing my culture to others and was delighted that Ruapotaka could join us! Another Favourite thing I absolutely ADORED about Term 3 was Room 8 winning Kiwi Can three times in a row! WOOHOO! and also us getting to watch a movie and have a Pizza Party too. Next Term, I am looking forward to great things so I can Participate and show School Values to others when I'm outside or inside of school. I am also looking forward to new activities and sports that I have never tried out! Here are some photos from this Term!

Tongan Language Week - Akanesi

Today was a very special day because it was Tongan Language Week! We wanted to celebrate Tongan Language Week because There were a lot of Tongans that come to our school which is Tamaki Primary School and we wanted to respect their culture so that's what we did. Also we had an assembly outside because we were with Ruapotaka Primary School and we wouldn't be able to fit in the Hall so we done it outside. Here are some photo's of the Spectacular Performances!

Elizabell and her BRILLIANT cousin Isabella went to a oversized water park in Brazil, They prefered to go there because it was their vacation and also that was their last day there. Elizabell also wanted to get over her frightening fear on their Gigantic Jumbo Slide.

As Elizabell got on the slide, she has a million butterflies in her stomach because she was so afraid and was panicking but still managed to just do it. When Elizabell went down the slide, she  screamed as loud as the Big Ben clock chiming every hour on the hour riding the enormous almighty slide. Her voice echoed on the horrifying slide and she felt like she was collapsing down a thundering cliff. Her heart started beating extremely quick and it was really difficult for her to breath then they got to the bottom of the petrified slide.

Elizabell was so relieved that she made it through the pitch black slide and said she will NEVER go on there EVER Again!

Recount Holiday - Akanesi

In the holidays, I went to Glow In The Dark Mini Golf and it was Hilarious but was also Mostly Awesome! After Glow In The Dark Mini Golf, We went to a really fancy Brazilian Restaurant that is called Wildfire, The reason we went there was to have a farewell dinner for My Older Cousin and her husband, also Child because they were going to go back to America. They had some delicious Meats that were Chicken with a really delightful Cracking on top, and Salmon with a sprinkle of Green Leaves on top, Pork with a yummy texture and also Steak. As soon as all of us finished our Pleasant Dinner, we said our Farewell Goodbyes and went home. When we got home, my sister called from A concert in Manukau and told us to pick her up because she left her car at home and went in my other cousin’s car but then she went home because her son was taken to the hospital because he was to sick. So then she called us to pick her up. As soon as we got there, she was taking a photo with a girl then she came to the car. I asked her “Who were you taking a photo with?” then she replied “Dinah Jane”. Also as soon as she said that, My heart burst and I told my mum to stop the car and let me get out to take a photo with Dinah Jane, So then I got out with my ipod and told my sister to take a photo of me and Dinah Jane and when we took a photo, I hugged Dinah and went back to the car and also drove home. I HAD SO MUCH FUN IN THE HOLIDAYS!

Brian Falkner - Akanesi

On the 15th of June, Brian Falkner came to our school. Brian Falkner is an Amazing Author and when he came to our school, I was surprised that Brian Falkner came to our school because his books are very interesting and strange too and thats super cool. He talked about his book Brain Jack and His other book was The Flea Thing so then after he talked about his Awesome Books, We had a competition with Room 6 & Room 7 for The Brian Falkner Book Contest and Room 8 got all answers right, so then we won the contest! (The Brian Falkner Challenge is when Brian puts up a cover of a book with no title and we have to guess what the title is). The Brian Falkner Challenge and Meeting Brian Falkner was the best part for me and how it was really FUN!!!! I hope we can meet again!

During my easter egg hunt, I find 4 easter eggs. Mum tells me that is only HALF of the total amount. How many eggs did Mum hide in total?
8 because 4 + 4 = 8

During my easter egg hunt, I find 5 easter eggs. Mum tells me that is only one quarter of the total amount. How many eggs did Mum hide in total? 20 because 5 x 4 = 20

During my easter egg hunt, I find 6 easter eggs. Mum tells me that is only HALF of the total amount. How many eggs did Mum hide in total? 12 because 6 + 6 = 12

During my easter egg hunt, I find 3 easter eggs. Mum tells me that is one quarter of the total amount. How many eggs did Mum hide in total? 12 because 3 x 4 = 12

EXTENSION: When I went home, I ate 10 hot cross buns. Mum asks me how many I ate, I say I ate one quarter of the packet. How many were in the packet in total? 40 because 10 x 4 = 40
