Food In My Culture - Akanesi

IALT: Talk about putting food in my culture in the food pyramid!

Yesterday, Room 9 had an Inquiry Lesson with Ms Aireen for our Topic Healthy Eating For Term 2, 2017.

In the Food Pyramid, The First Layer is Vegetable & Fruit (Which is Eat Most), The Second Layer is Grains and Starchy Vegetables (Which is Eat Some), The Third Layer is Legumes, Fish, Seafood, Eggs, Poultry and Meat. The Fourth Layer is Milk, Yoghurt and Cheese, Then the Last but not least layer is Healthy Oils, Nuts and Seeds.

Our Task was to List some or most of our cultural foods in a paper then each table will have to stand up in front of the class and read their paper of their cultural foods. Rosemary and Akih were pretty much the only people in the class who were not polynesian and when they read out their foods in their culture, It sounded amazing to hear that they are not afraid and saying it in Filipino or Chinese. In Filipino, Food is Pagakon and In Chinese, Food is Sthru.

It was fun during our Inquiry Lessons because now I know how to say Food in different Languages!

I think that The Inquiry Lesson Yesterday with Ms Aireen was a very great lesson because we got to communicate with others and show the Tamaki Primary School Value which is Whanaungatanga!

Thankyou for reading!
